1135. 🇸🇸 News Of More South Sudan Surcharges.

🇸🇸 In Blog 1134 I drew attention to some surcharges which seem to have been released recently by the postal service of South Sudan and which were being offered for sale on internet auction sites. I seem to have overlooked more such items which are currently for sale which are the original flag stamp of 2011 surcharged with a total of 5 new values (50SSP - mentioned in Blog 1134, 75SSP, 100SSP, 300SSP and 500SSP) plus the same stamp also surcharged 100SSP but in a different smaller font. That seems to add up to 14 new surcharges in all but who knows what else is lurking out there.

🇵🇰 Pakistan Post issued 6 stamps in a se-tenant format on 6 December 2017 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the Aga Khan. This looks like an interesting and well produced issue. Rating:- ****.

🇮🇳 India Post issued 1 stamp and 1 miniature sheet on 7 December 2017 on the subject of the submarine INS Kalvari. The issue commemorates the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Kalvari which was the first submarine to have been built in India. Rating:- ***.

India Post also issued a My Stamp on 17 November 2017 on the subject of 'Wedding Wishes'. As usual the issue was sold in sheetlets of 12 with attached labels and sold at a premium. Rating:- **.

🇲🇹 MaltaPost issued a set of 10 stamps, each produced in blocks of 4 stamps (2 blocks containing 4 different designs and 2 blocks containing 4 identical stamps each) on the subject of Traditional tile patterns which are found in many Maltese houses. This attractive set was designed by Stephanie Borg and lithographed by Printex and perforated 14. The set was issued on 12 December 2017. Rating:- ****.

MaltaPost has also issued 3 Greetings stamps recently with attached labels to commemorate the philatelic exhibitions, International Stamp Fair Sindelfingen 2017 (released 26 October 2017), Maltex Philatelic Exhibition 2017 (issued 10 October 2017) and Veronafil (issued 24 November 2017). These are an excellent and relatively inexpensive method of commemorating a postal administration's attendance at a stamp exhibition and worth including in my collection of Maltese stamps. Rating:- ***.
